The Rogue, Barbarian, Druid, Sorcerer, and Necromancer are all staples of the Diablo games in one form or another, and though Diablo 4 has certainly made significant changes to each, those with a passing familiarity of each class' role will have no trouble understanding their character's niche in defending Sanctuary. A new Book Of The Dead feature also lets Diablo 4 Necromancers customize their summoned minions or convert them into passive boons.ĭiablo 4 is by far the most modern game in the mainline Diablo series, coming 11 years after 3, but its core class-based gameplay is heavily reminiscent of those iterations that came before. The Diablo 4 Necromancer retains all these dark magical abilities in essence, if not in precise form, tweaking the functionality of blood, bone, and darkness spells so players running Necromancer builds don't have to be minion master.
Diablo 3 gave the Necromancer class access to new spells themed around blood and the draining of vital energies from targets. It is also capable of more direct combat with destructive spells of poison and weaponized bone, along with curses for weakening enemies. Barbarian falls in the middle, being a viable option with some buffs to certain skills. Sorcerer is currently the weakest class due to its squishiness and lack of mobility. Necromancer’s minion Thorn build is still viable despite the damage reduction nerfs.
The Necromancer class, introduced in Diablo 2, is a minion master par excellence, equipped with numerous spells skills for summoning skeletons and golems of bone, clay, blood, and iron. The Druid and Rogue classes are considered the best and most meta choices for Season 1.
